In England, “health is getting worse for people living in more deprived districts and regions, health inequalities are increasing and, for the population as a whole, health is declining. “ The country has been “moving in the wrong direction. In particular, lives for people towards the bottom of the social hierarchy have been made more difficult. Some of these difficulties have been the direct result of government policies, some have resulted from failure to counter adverse trends such as increased economic inequalities or market failures.” (Marmot “10 years on” review, 2020)
We want to reverse these trends, and we believe the power to do so lies in communities.
